Appointment Types and Fees

You’ll find information about the types of appointments and what each appointment includes below. Please contact us if you have any questions.
What happens during an appointment?
1. We review your medical history: We get to know you, seeking to understand your current issue, your goals and any previous injuries or illnesses that may be contributing to your current issue.
2. We conduct an sssessment and provide you with a working diagnosis: A physical assessment is performed, which may include orthopaedic or neurological testing where clinically indicated.
3. Hands-on treatment: Treatment is always individualised and tailored to your needs.
4. We may provide a personalised management plan: We believe that the more you understand your issue, the better you can resolve it. We work with you to create a personalised management plan, which may include education or exercises to support your recovery beyond the clinic room.
How can you prepare for your appointment?
Fill in your paperwork: If you’re new to the clinic or you’re booking a new appointment type, please check your emails. We will send you an intake form to fill in prior to your consult. If you do not have time to complete this, please arrive a few minutes early and look for the iPad.
Gather any scans, letters or other information. If you have your scans or letters available, they can give us a better understanding of what is going on for you. Please bring them with you if you have them.
What should you wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing. If possible, we prefer soft fabrics rather than yoga or gym pants, but don’t stress if you have to come straight from work. Sometimes we will ask you to remove your outer layer of clothing so that we can assessment your movement better, but only if this is okay with you.
Can You Bring Babies Or Children To Your Appointment?
Yes, you are welcome to bring children to your appointment. Little people can be busy people though! We suggest bringing snacks and a book or toy to entertain them, but we’ve got lots of experience in working with children in the room, so we’ll work around whatever happens on the day.
Why is our pricing different for musculoskeletal issues versus pregnancy, post-partum and pelvic health concerns?
As Osteopaths, our general training provides us with a comprehensive understanding of a variety of whole body concerns. We would expect most Osteopaths would be able to treat general issues. Pivot Osteopathy and Pregnancy and Beyond Osteopathy are leaders in Osteopathy for Pregnancy, Post-partum and Pelvic Health Issues. Both Dr Elizabeth Johns and Dr Sarah Dryburgh have developed courses and teach other osteopaths on many of these issues. All of our Osteopaths have invested, and continue to invest, considerable time in professional development, resource development and expanding Osteopathic practice and knowledge in these areas. We have attempted to keep our pricing affordable, whilst balancing the demands of the time and resources required to provide you with continued excellence in care..
